FAQs

What can I expect during my photoshoot?

Expect to have fun!! This experience is about YOU!

Photoshoots can occur at any time of day but most photoshoots occur in the morning or evening. A pop-up changing tent is available for your convenience and a wagon is used to help carry your outfit changes and props during your shoot.  No matter your style, I will help you pose, style, and show you a few of your pictures as we go. Remember, this is all about YOU! I want you to not only have amazing portraits but also have the time of your life!

When and how will I receive my photos?

I want you to have the best portraits possible! Therefore, each of your photos is processed individually. Since this takes time, please expect 1-2 weeks to receive them. After I have made your photos amazing, I will contact you. We will set up a time to meet to go over your photos in your own private, online gallery, in which I will give you a password when we meet. Your photos will be downloadable and shareable from your gallery.

How do I change clothes during my photoshoot?

Changing clothes on site is easy. I provide a pop-up changing tent for you to use on location as well as a wagon to carry your outfits and props. I will also have an assistant available to help pull the wagon and watch over your belongings during the shoot.

What time of day is best for photoshoots?

If you want the best lighting, then early morning or late evening is best. During the early morning and late evening, the sun is soft and creates long beautiful shadows. Plus, you get to take advantage of sunrises, sunsets, and cooler temps. Other times of the day will work as well, but diffusers, reflectors, and a flash will be used to create soft, even lighting to remove harsh shadows created by the overhead sun.

What are the best outdoor locations for photoshoots?

I have a few locations that I like to shoot at because of the variety of backgrounds available. My favorites include South Mesa Trail in south Boulder, McKay Lake Trail in Westminster near 144th and Zuni, Varsity Pond on CU Boulder campus, and Boulder Creek just outside of Boulder Canyon in Boulder. If you live north of Denver, Chapungu Sculpture Park at Centerra in Loveland is a beautiful spot, especially in the fall!  Another option that many people like is to have their photos taken in an old downtown setting. This offers alleyways, old buildings, old staircases, and murals giving an artistic feel to your photos. This is a great option and can be done at any time of the year. Downtown Denver, Boulder, Longmont, and Fort Collins are great locations for this. My advice to you is to pick a location that best suits your personality. Even though these are my favorite locations, I am always happy to shoot at a location that is special to you.
